Current Project in Permitting (Golf Rose Animal Shelter)
The Golf Rose Animal Shelter Project is a raise and rebuild of an existing Animal Shelter located at 1355 N. Roselle Road in Schaumburg, Illinois and is located just south of the existing Golf Rose Animal Hospital. The Golf Rose facilities have been providing animal care services and boarding since 1965 at the same location. W-T Civil Engineering and W-T Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, LLC were both hired by Architectural Planning & Services Ltd. to perform civil, mechanical, electrical and plumbing engineering. Brusseau Design Group, LLC was also hired as the site landscape architect. There were several difficult design challenges on the project including the design of underground detention and retaining walls. One of the last functioning wells in the Village of Schaumburg will continue to be utilized for on-site irrigation. New water service will be brought to the site from an existing water main in the Roselle Road right of way. Other difficult challenges included the preparation of site and MEP design to allow the existing animal shelter to stay in business while the new animal shelter is being constructed. The Golf Rose Animal Shelter is currently in the permitting phase. Construction should begin on the new animal shelter in the spring of 2011.

Construction Complete (Memorial Elementary School)
Memorial Elementary School is an existing grades 1-5 elementary school located at 6701 W 179th Street in Tinley Park, IL and is part of School District 146.
Design of the Memorial Elementary School Project began in the first quarter of 2010 and construction began in June of 2010 and was completed in December 2010. The project included the addition of a bus turn around area, new parking lot, new canopy, signage, a new playground, addition to the faculty lounge area, as well as an almost 100% remodeled interior. W-T Civil Engineering, LLC was hired by DLA Architects Ltd. to provide civil engineering and permitting services. Permitting with the Metropolitan Water Reclamation
District of Greater Chicago MWRDGC posed substantial difficulty. An existing pond on site had no record of being permitted. The existing pond had to be completely re-designed to provide detention not only for the proposed improvements, but for the entire owned property of the site. Detention was also provided for a future addition to the existing library which was a wise choice by the school district and design team since the MWRDGC will be revising their ordinance shortly. The new ordinance will have more stringent requirements including more required detention, and additional storm water quality improvements. The elementary school is scheduled to re-open in the fall of 2011.
