Waste Treatment System Design - Wayne Elementary School
Wayne Elementary is located at 5N443 School Street in Wayne, Illinois and is part of School District (U46). Currently Sanitary effluent from the school is treated by an existing sewage treatment plant located on the north side of the school property and occupies approximately 0.60 acres. This existing treatment plant is over 50 year old and does not meet the IEPA’s current standards for sanitary discharge. Since the current plant cannot meet the current environmental standards, School District U-46 hired DLA Architects and W-T Civil Engineering LLC. to create a conceptual design for a new Sewage Treatment Facility and to design, permit, and coordinate the construction for the new plant.
Existing System Onsite

Plans for the new treatment system propose that the existing equipment be removed and the existing activated sludge lagoon be filled. The existing system will be replaced by a new treatment system sized to handle 15,000 gallons of waste per day. The new system will include a proposed grinder pump, two 15,000 gallon underground precast concrete septic tanks, a re-circulating sand filter system with re-circulation tank, and an ultraviolet disinfection system. The Construction is scheduled to start in May of 2010.

Soil Erosion Control Inspection for Sears Park
Alsip, IL
Sears Park
In 2009 W-T Civil Engineering was part of the design team for the Sears Park Re-Development for the Alsip Park District which was lead by Brusseau Design Group, LLC and W-T Mechanical / Electrical Engineering, LLC. The project is currently being constructed by Fuerte Construction. The existing site contains several special management areas such as floodplain and Army Corps Jurisdictional Wetlands. Since the Army Corps does not have a government inspector for soil erosion control measures in South Cook County, the Alsip Park district was required to hire an inspector to make weekly site visits to the site to inspect the soil erosion control measures in place during construction, as part of the Army Corps Permit. They hired W-T Civil Engineering LLC to make these weekly inspections.
W-T Civil Engineering, LLC has now been recognized as Soil Erosion Control Inspectors for Lake County and the Army Corps of engineers, and has trained CPESC and DECI Soil Erosion Control certified team to inspect and design all aspects for soil erosion control.
