What's New

Burr Ridge Police Facility
W-T Civil Engineering is proud to have participated with Williams Architects with the design of the new Burr Ridge Police Facility.  The site work had slowed over the winter months, but with the nice weather, the construction of the site work is again in full gear.  The facility is located at the south west corner of 77th and County Line Road, just south of the existing Village Hall.  The Village was able to take advantage of historically low construction prices in order to build the facility for one million dollars below estimates.  The new 19,000 square foot police facility will address several deficiencies in the existing facility that was built in 1986.  Also under construction, adjacent to the Police facility, is the Veterans Memorial.

“Waterprint” IPhone App for Monitoring Water Consumption

i phone app for waterprint.jpgFor those of you with IPhones, you can finally be considered to be as cool as a Civil Engineer (yes, I am being sarcastic).  You have heard of “carbon footprint”, but maybe we will soon be as concerned about our “water(foot)print”.  A new IPhone App will allow you to track your water consumption throughout the day.  Waterprint summarizes the users’ water usage into four easy categories, namely; food, beverages, products & household use.  The app allows for improved awareness of water usage & will hopefully help users to do their part in reducing their own water demands.
