Design Awards
In 2009 W-T Mechanical/ Electrical Engineering, LLC worked on several projects that won various awards. Metropolitan Tower in which we provided plumbing engineering services received a 2009 Chicago Landmark award for Preservation Excellence- Adaptive Reuse and New Addition. Three (3) fire stations that we provided HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical and Fire Protection Engineering were listed as notable projects in the Fire Chief 2009 Station Style Design awards, Lincolnshire Riverwoods station #53, Lockport Township Fire Protection District Station #6 and Hoffman Estates Fire Station #24 and Optima Camel View Village in Scottsdale Arizona received an Honor award for the Arizona AIA.
LEED Projects
W-T Mechanical / Electrical Engineering, LLC provided HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical and / or Fire Protection Engineering for several project scheduled to become LEED rated facilities including Jackson Center office building, Naperville Fire Station #10, Elmhurst Fire Station #2, Hoffman Estates Fire Station #24, Oakbrook Terrace Public Works, HSBC Headquarters and Waste Management office building. The designs in these facilities include geothermal, LED lighting, rainwater harvesting, energy efficient temperature controls, high efficiency boilers and water heater's, water usage reduction, energy efficient lighting and controls and other innovative designs such as solar water heating and wind power.
2009 / 2010 Overview
Although 2009 was a tough year and a year that most everybody will want to forget we are excited about the prospects for 2010. We have already received the "go ahead" on a couple of projects and have several proposals pending ranging from grocery stores, animal clinics, city halls, to carwashes and a research facility. In 2010 we are dedicated to improving our relationships with our current clients and developing new relationships.
Employee Highlight
Joe Hainaut joined W-T Mechanical/ Electrical Engineering, LLC in October of 2006 as a Plumbing Engineer. Joe has over five (5) years of experience in the plumbing industry. His responsibilities include Preparation of construction documents, specifications, shop drawings review, field surveys and construction site visits to observe the installation. Joe graduated from the University of Illinois with a Bachelor of Mathematics and became LEED AP in 2008. Joe has worked on various project types ranging from Fire Stations and banks, to grocery stores and condominiums.
Karl Streitenfeld Ten Years of Service
We would like to recognize Karl Streitenfeld for his ten years of service to W-T Mechanical / Electrical Engineering, LLC Karl has been with the company since September of 1999 as our Senior Electrical Engineer or the "Chief" as he likes to be called. As our Chief Electrical Engineer, Karl engineers all of our larger electrical projects and assists our other electrical engineers. Karl has over thirty (30) years of experience in designing, contracting and managing in the electrical field. Karl has extensive experience in lighting systems, power systems, etc. for residential, municipal, commercial and institutional facilities. We thank Karl for all his hard work.
