Speedway Honors WT Group As “Number One Consultant”

Over the years, WT Group has truly grown our partnership with Speedway, the largest chain of company-owned and operated gasoline and convenience stores in the US with approximately 3,900 stores. Last year WT Group was recognized as one of Speedway’s Retail Support Business Partners of the Year (click here to read the full story).

As stated under “The Speedway Way”, Speedway conducts their operations under a Code of Business Conduct that demonstrates their commitment to integrity.  This commitment is supported annually when they review their 16 site consultants and 7 building consultants through a variety of Performance Indicators.

Speedway’s reviews are spearheaded by its Engineering department and supported by their Regional Project Managers, Construction Managers, and Operations, Real Estate, and Maintenance departments. Each group gave a score from 0 to 3 for each of the following Key Performance Indicators:

• Responsiveness
• Adheres to Speedway standards
• Overall quality of work
• Schedule timeline accuracy
• Value Engineering
• Quality of the survey
• Cost Control (WT Group fees)

WT Group met with Speedway this past November and was placed as the number one consultant for the year with the highest score ever awarded: 2.9 out of 3!

WT's Practice Areas that were involved in Speedway’s projects include Accessibility Consulting, Land Surveying, Civil Engineering, Design & Program Management, MEP, Structural Engineering, and Administration. Such a high score would not have been possible without the collaboration and hard work of these teams. The types of projects reviewed were:

• ‍New Build and Raze and Rebuild Sites: Tasks for the consultant include due diligence, zoning approval, Alta surveying, civil engineering, permitting, bid assistance, and construction phase coordination.‍
• New Build and Raze and Rebuild Building Drawings: Tasks for the consultant include providing site-specific permit and construction drawings for architecture, MEP, and structural drawings.‍
• Remodel Projects: Tasks for the consultant include due diligence, zoning approval, Alta surveying, civil engineering, architecture, MEP, structural engineering, permitting, bid assistance, and construction phase coordination.‍
• Tank and Piping Drawings: Tasks for the consultant include due diligence, tank and piping drawings, permitting, bid assistance, and construction phase coordination.

As a result of our high rating, WT Group has been granted jobs in three new markets: Central Illinois, Iowa, and Arizona.

This award demonstrates the power that we have when we work together as one entity.
